Mayford Chardonnay, Tempranillo and Shiraz are released annually in late spring. The Ovens Crossing, a signature blend of Tempranillo, Cabernet Sauvignon and Malbec is made only in exceptional years and is available from late winter. Over the Melbourne Cup Weekend, Mayford devotees are invited to meet the new wines in person, and to experience their magnificent Alpine provenance firsthand.

Surrounded by the Victorian Alps, at the cool, southern end of the Alpine Valleys wine region, the beautiful Mayford vineyard remains a well-kept secret.

In a small stone winery near the township of Porepunkah with Mount Buffalo as a defining backdrop, limited volumes of wine are crafted with care. Winemaker, Eleana Anderson has quietly carved a reputation for her finessed wines and Bryan Nicholson consistently coaxes outstanding quality from the vineyard, one of Australia’s prettiest.

Now into its third decade, Mayford is widely lauded for producing complex, elegant and ageworthy wines which speak to place and the season.
