Wine Availability
The 2008 Chardonnay and 2008 Tempranillo are now available.
The 2008 Chardonnay is layered and complex with minerally elegance, yet is a bit “out there” with a pleasing level of matchstick and gunsmoke character. It shows its barrel fermented and lees-worked provenance, but without being oily or cloying. Its spicy oak is perceptible at this early stage of the wines development but will become completely in harmony with time.
The much-awaited 2008 Tempranillo has a very similar aromatic profile to the 2006 vintage – rich in cherry, anise and bitter almond with lovely earthiness. It is perhaps not quite as heavy-weight, but more than compensates for this with its terrific sweetness of fruit and tightness of texture. Its savouriness and mature varietal tannins make it a wonderful match for game meats.
The 2006 Shiraz is now sold out. No wines were made from the 2007 crop due to bushfires in the region which affected our fruit. The 2008 Shiraz is due for release August 2010.
